Kurofune Samurai

Kurofune Samurai is a free third-person action samurai game set in 19th-century Japan. The story follows a samurai who is called to help the people of an oppressed village. His mission is to stand up for their rights against a cruel ruler and fight the ruler's guards and ninjas.

The people of Shizukana used to live a good life. Their lord was fair and just. But one day, a delegation from the American government showed up asking to make a trade deal with the local lord, and he turned them down. So the Americans got the lord's brother, Akumo, on their side and stirred up trouble between the siblings. With the help of American military weapons, Akumo won and took over Shizukana. He was a stubborn and violent guy, and his oppression of the villagers just got worse over time. He enslaved the people, and anyone who couldn't deliver what he demanded was punished harshly and cruelly. Finally, the exhausted villagers decided to ask an old samurai for help. After hearing about all the suffering, the samurai agreed to lend a hand and set off to investigate and rescue the villagers.
